The song One Night was originally recorded by Smiley Lewis in 1956. 
Elvis recorded it in 1957 and it was released on a single in 1958 
while Elvis was in army, reaching #4 on the pop chart. Various 
other artists have covered the song since.

One Night was also re-released as a single in the UK 
in January 2005 to commemorate Elvis' 70th birthday, and it
 went to #1 on the British Singles top 40 chart.

Not an Elvis fan till I heard this song. His voice is so intense and with some brilliant guitar playing got to be in the top 10 songs ever recorded Ray Carnoustie

This is one in a million.. No one can sing like he does in this one. Again, emotionally his singing is the best ever.. When I first heard this song way back in the pre-teen years, I was awed and feel same each time I hear it.. Elvis at his very best...Thank you God

This is an incredible performance and so much more intense than his earlier very cool, 'One night of sin' version. Elvis sings with such power and intensity that it's very hard not to be moved by his sheer artistry. At this early stage in his career he was already laying waste to all contenders. This is the king at his sexiest, I don't think this type of raw singing surfaced again till briefly in 1960 and to a fuller extent in Memphis in the '69 cuts. I must just mention that ' one night' is the song that put my wife and myself into each others arms. Thanks Elvis. Pat.

Im the lead singer from the sixties now a soloist. This is a great song and is a very big reminder of the past. Elvis Presley is the spirit that lives in many performers on stage .....sheer magic Mike Tinsley "Hedgehoppers Anonymous"

I'm sure every girl would like to spend one night with Elvis or thiry minutes with him. He is the most exciting person that lived. He is handsome and charming and most of all he had feelings for people. Every time I hear this song I thank of him. Nell Hooker
