Elvis Presley Song:

Mystery Train (1955)

(Music and lyrics by Parker and Phillips)

Recorded in July 1955 at the Sun studios, Mystery Train was released by both Sun and RCA in 1955 (August and December respectively), as his contract with RCA records included his Sun singles. It was released in the UK in 1957, reaching #25 in the UK pop chart. You can find it on the CD Elvis at Sun. "Train, train, comin' down, down the line. Train, train, comin' down the line. Well it's bringin' my baby, 'cause she's mine all, all mine,"

Mystery Train is perhaps the greatest rock and roll songs ever recorded, especially at Sun. I am the developer of Caudill Estates, where Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash lived, friends. I dated Miss Tenn. in 1972 who said she was with Elvis once in Nashville. I believe her. She said he sat on the floor and read the Bible. I saw him in 70 in Vegas, when he walked on stage it was like god just showed up, unbelievable. No one on this planet looked that good, charisma, and talent, more than you could take.

One of rock and roll's ageless classics, fit for a king. It still blows me away. The song takes you on board for a train ride and gently lets you go at the end as Elvis hollers on to the next station, you can take the ride but you can't stay the whole journey. Pure magic.

I especially like train songs and classic country. This song was featured on an Elvis tribute album and was sung by Dwight Yoakum. I had never heard of it, however. It reminds me of many other songs such as Dwight's Long, White Cadillac. Other similar tunes include Fireball Mail, Folsolm Prison Blues, and Wabash Cannonball. All of these may be interpreted as dark pieces.

24K Gold Music Shows
50s/60s/Elvis/oldies showband in Florida

24K Gold Music Shows is a large oldies musical revue (126 people) performing primarily in Florida. The shows are filled with lots of choreography, energy, and great fun with oldies, country, and Elvis songs.

The last 1/3 of each evening show is an Elvis Tribute, featuring his music based on arrangements from his 1970s concerts. And every show is different.

24K Gold Music Shows understands there was only one Elvis Presley, so NO ONE in in the band will ever attempt to "impersonate" Elvis or pretend to be him, nor even be as good as Elvis! The show they are doing is a sincere tribute to the King, with NO attempt to mock him.

So in 24K Gold Music Shows Elvis tribute show you will be reminded of Elvis through his songs, sung with similar arrangements to those he used in concert, and see some similar costumes to those he wore, just for nostalgia's sake.
