(Music and lyrics by Aaron Schroeder and Wally Gold)
The melody for this song was taken from an old and popular Italian romantic song
O Sole Mio that has been performed by numerous artists.  Elvis had already
decided to do the song while he was in army, but wanted new lyrics.  Schroeder 
and Gold provided new lyrics and an up-tempo arrangement; Elvis loved the song 
and recorded it right after returning from army. It became an enormous hit 
and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

I absolutely love this song, David Cazalet who is an Elvis impersonator, and is the best of the best I LOVE HIM, he is my Elvis, he sang this song to me at one of the clubs here in Sydney, Australia.
