Elvis was indeed a very lonely man. Yeah, he may have had all those people around him, but they didn't fill the emptyness in his heart. And we all know the two people he cherished most in the whole world. Elvis didn't die August 16, 1977. He died when him and Silla's divorce was finalized. Hence, the purpose behind this song. As I listen to the song I can see Elvis alone at night and thinking of what he really always wanted--- a family and to be surrounded by love. As fans we sure do love him, but he just wanted what we all want someone of his own. I listen to Elvis more than any other artist, his music always made me feel better and it still does. Val

Many thanks to Elvis for his beautiful songs. After many years a man who was shy came into my life. He being a serious Elvis fan would say, "Please youtube this song because it explains how I feel about you." As the time getting to know each other progressed I have had many songs from him to listen to and It's Midnight became our special one. Elvis has been speaking for a wonderful man who now is speaking for himself. Love you my Darling.

This has always been one of my favorite Elvis songs. By his voice you can tell the song obviously struck home with him personally. I am a late night person and I'm often awake at midnight thinking about the past and how my life has turned out. Elvis was intensely lonely at heart and you can tell by this song. I have been a fan since I was 8 years old and now I am 62--so I think for me that Elvis has always filled the lonely spot in my heart; his music can always make me feel better--to me his voice was just magic--I was a very lonely child and teen and grew up in an abusive home--he was my escape.
