Elvis Presley Song:

I Forgot To Remember To Forget (1955)

(Music and lyrics by Stan Kesler and Feathers)

This song is one of the last ones Elvis recorded for Sun, in July 1955, before changing to RCA record label. You can buy it on Elvis 2nd to None CD. The chorus says: "Well, but something sure is wrong, 'Cause I'm so blue and lonely. I forgot to remember to forget."

In 1955 I was working at Radio Station KOEL, Oelwein, Iowa. One day I took a phone call from a woman asking if the DJ could play "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" by Elvis Presley. I had never heard of Elvis, and had trouble remembering his name and the name of the song. So, I switched the woman's call directly to the DJ. That was the first time I heard of Elvis. Shortly after that Elvis had his first #1 pop hit -- "Heartbreak Hotel".

24K Gold Music Shows
50s/60s/Elvis/oldies showband in Florida

24K Gold Music Shows is a large oldies musical revue (126 people) performing primarily in Florida. The shows are filled with lots of choreography, energy, and great fun with oldies, country, and Elvis songs.

The last 1/3 of each evening show is an Elvis Tribute, featuring his music based on arrangements from his 1970s concerts. And every show is different.

24K Gold Music Shows understands there was only one Elvis Presley, so NO ONE in in the band will ever attempt to "impersonate" Elvis or pretend to be him, nor even be as good as Elvis! The show they are doing is a sincere tribute to the King, with NO attempt to mock him.

So in 24K Gold Music Shows Elvis tribute show you will be reminded of Elvis through his songs, sung with similar arrangements to those he used in concert, and see some similar costumes to those he wore, just for nostalgia's sake.
