Blue Moon of Kentucky (1954)

Bill Monroe wrote this song in 1946 as a "bluegrass" waltz.
Elvis recorded it to be the flip side to That's All Right Mama single.
When Elvis, Scotty Moore, and Bill Black were playing  around with it, 
they changed the slow waltz into an upbeat, blues-flavored tune in 4/4 tempo

"Blue moon, blue moon, blue moon,
keep shining bright.
Blue moon, keep on shining bright,
You're gonna bring me back my baby tonight,
Blue moon, keep shining bright."
