Elvis in the movie Clambake

Elvis Movie "Clambake" (1967)

In "Clambake" Elvis plays a rich young man, Scott, heir to an oil fortune, who doesn't want girls to like him for his money or cars only.  So he switches places with a waterski instructor, Tom.  While Tom enjoys spending money and being surrounded by girls, Elvis' character falls in love with a poor girl (Shelley Fabares).  Elvis also gets to race in a boatrace, and of course wins his love in the end.

The songs in this movie are "Clambake", "Who needs money", "A House that has everything", "Confidence", "You don't know me", "Hey, Hey, Hey", "The girl I never loved", "How can you lose what you never had".

I feel Elvis and Shelly pair great together. The songs were perfect for the movie. This is a movie to watch over and over again.

Either he was acting well or there was a great sensitivity that showed in this one.

This is my favorite Elvis movie...fun..and Shelley is an absolute vision, but it's that song, "The Girl I Never Loved", that stirs up those long, not-so-lost heartaches every time. Thanks, King.

Another great Elvis movie. The movie is fun, and I love the plot of him changing places with the ski instructor. If you have not seen this movie, you are going to love it! Elvis, Shelley, Will, and all the cast are just fabulous! I wish there were more movies like this these days!

You gotta' love Elvis, and he was super-duper fab in this delightful, frothy little movie. Shelley Fabares was gorgeous, and made a cute couple with him. I love this movie, and love the theme song.

Will there ever be anyone as cool as Elvis? NEVER. Clambake is another Elvis movie where he does what he did best...he entertains people. Elvis didn't need computer simulation or special effects in his movies...he was a special effect! Clambake tells a nice story and entertains you, plus you get to watch Elvis wear several of the coolest jackets he ever wore and hear some great songs sung. Check out Elvis playing the bongos on the roof of the beach shack during the Clambake number. WOW! Nobody will ever match his style. Long live the King!

24K Gold Music Shows
50s/60s/Elvis/oldies showband in Florida

Burning Love by 24K Gold Music Shows       More videos

24K Gold Music Shows is a large oldies musical revue (126 people) performing primarily in Florida. The shows are filled with lots of choreography, energy, and great fun with oldies, country, and Elvis songs.

The last 1/3 of each evening show is an Elvis Tribute, featuring his music based on arrangements from his 1970s concerts. And every show is different.

24K Gold Music Shows understands there was only one Elvis Presley, so NO ONE in in the band will ever attempt to "impersonate" Elvis or pretend to be him, nor even be as good as Elvis! The show they are doing is a sincere tribute to the King, with NO attempt to mock him.

So in 24K Gold Music Shows Elvis tribute show you will be reminded of Elvis through his songs, sung with similar arrangements to those he used in concert, and see some similar costumes to those he wore, just for nostalgia's sake.
