Elvis in the movie Charro

Elvis Movie "Charro" (1969)

"Charro" is a serious Western - not a comedy - and Elvis doesn't sing a song except for the title tune that is heard over the opening titles.  Elvis plays Jess Wade, a former member of a criminal gang, who has now turned his back to his past and is on good track.   The gang members won't let go of him that easy though, branding his neck and making him to be falsely accused of stealing a Mexican war cannon.  Elvis tries to make things right.

This was and always will be my favorite Elvis movie. Oh what look Elvis had with the beard. Not only that, but it was more of a movie role Elvis would have liked to do more of. It showed what his acting could have been if not controlled by others. I am not putting down his other movies because they brought in a ton of money and kept Elvis high in the music industry, but some were totally off the wall. Elvis needed to be taken much more serious and needed more control as to what he could have done. What a shame. I have an Elvis tatto of Charro on my chest, that I had put on for the 20th anniversary of his death. I am also glad to see that a lot of other fans love this movie as much as I do.

I would give anything if Elvis would have been allowed by Colonel Parker to use all his God-given talents. He wanted so deeply to show he could really act. I am and will always be true to his memory. "Charro" was awesome.

Charro is clearly Elvis' best film. Most people have never seen it properly due to bad dvd productions in the past, but the new release shows it off beautifully. Shame it didn't turn out as adult as it was originally intended, but it's still a great film and shows that Elvis still had acting talent when he was given a good director and script!

Elvis was a great singer. This movie showed he had the talent to be a great actor. It is too bad he didn't make more movies of a dramatic nature.

I really like this movie. I feel that Elvis fans did not give him a chance to be the good film star that he could have been. I've been a fan since I was 5 years old and loved anything he was in - just because I was able to see him. Many people only make fun of him; he was alway generous and considerate to his fans!

24K Gold Music Shows
50s/60s/Elvis/oldies showband in Florida

24K Gold Music Shows is a large oldies musical revue (126 people) performing primarily in Florida. The shows are filled with lots of choreography, energy, and great fun with oldies, country, and Elvis songs.

The last 1/3 of each evening show is an Elvis Tribute, featuring his music based on arrangements from his 1970s concerts. And every show is different.

24K Gold Music Shows understands there was only one Elvis Presley, so NO ONE in in the band will ever attempt to "impersonate" Elvis or pretend to be him, nor even be as good as Elvis! The show they are doing is a sincere tribute to the King, with NO attempt to mock him.

So in 24K Gold Music Shows Elvis tribute show you will be reminded of Elvis through his songs, sung with similar arrangements to those he used in concert, and see some similar costumes to those he wore, just for nostalgia's sake.
