Elvis in the movie Change of Habit

Elvis Movie "Change of Habit" (1969)

In "Change of Habit" Elvis is playing doctor, John Carpenter, who works on a free clinic in a ghetto area.  When three young women want to volunteer as nurses, he is suspicious at first but gives in and lets them work.  These three are actually incognito nuns.  The work at the clinic is not easy for the girls, and they meet resistance at first.  The movie touches on several serious issues like rape, autism, racism, politics, and drugs.  One of the nuns (played by Mary Tyler Moore) falls for the doctor (who doesn't know she's a nun), one of them returns to the convent, and one decides to leave for the world of politics.

The few songs in "Change of Habit" are "Rubberneckin", "Have a Happy", and "Change of Habit/Let Us Pray".

One of my favorites. I LOVE IT! Elvis was brilliant in every movie he played, but I cried in the scene with the little girl. I WISH HE WAS MY DOCTOR!

i loved this movie. I loved Elvis. He died on my birthday in 1977. I was so sad when it happened. I have seen every one of his movies. He will always live in my heart.

This is a great movie, but sad to watch as it was Elvis' last theatrical film. He should have made 100 more.

This is an interesting movie, considering the time it was made. We were in the middle of Vietnam, Women's lib., the civil rights movement, and many, many changes in society and religion. I think this film hits on all of these and more. The last scene of this movie really stirs me emotionally. What else could you ask for in a movie? Elvis looks really cool! His acting is great!

I love, love, love this movie! It is one of my favorites. In fact, it is my favorite. It is often overlooked but shouldn't be. It is one of his best. Period.

If I Can Dream by 24K Gold Music Shows       More videos

24K Gold Music Shows is a large oldies musical revue (126 people) performing primarily in Florida. The shows are filled with lots of choreography, energy, and great fun with oldies, country, and Elvis songs.

The last 1/3 of each evening show is an Elvis Tribute, featuring his music based on arrangements from his 1970s concerts. And every show is different.

24K Gold Music Shows understands there was only one Elvis Presley, so NO ONE in in the band will ever attempt to "impersonate" Elvis or pretend to be him, nor even be as good as Elvis! The show they are doing is a sincere tribute to the King, with NO attempt to mock him.

So in 24K Gold Music Shows Elvis tribute show you will be reminded of Elvis through his songs, sung with similar arrangements to those he used in concert, and see some similar costumes to those he wore, just for nostalgia's sake.
