A poem sent to us on the eve of Elvis' 73th birthday (January 8th, 2008):
WE REMEMBER YOU
IT'S THIRTY YEARS TODAY
THAT YOU WENT AWAY
BUT TO ALL OF US
IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY
SOMETIMES IT'S LIKE
YOU ARE STILL HERE
BECAUSE WE STILL HEAR
YOUR MUSIC EVERYWHERE
TONIGHT GRACELAND WILL BE FILLED WITH LIGHT
FROM THE CANDLES THAT WILL BURN SO BRITE
WISH I COULD BE THERE WITH ALL YOUR FANS
AND HOLD A CANDLE IN MY HANDS!!!
ALL DAY LONG I HAD THESE WORDS IN MY HEAD
I KNEW IT'S SOMETHING THAT HAD TO BE SAID !!!!

It was a cool afternoon when on the radio we heard Elvis will be in Greenbay Wisconsin arriving in the Lisa Maria, I believe it was 1976 I was about 8 or 9 - my family and thousands more waited what seemed hours for Elvis to exit the airplane, when the door opened the airport shined lights on him he walked down the stairs and when he touched pavement he lifted up his cape, and went down on one knee, God that thing was shinny and glimmering and the women, the women were screaming and what I thought trying to climb the fence to get to him. He waived and then gone forever. I thought ...wow ..that's Elvis ...

Here is a guestion that no one can answer; if you have the answer, PLEASE email me: what is the name of the instrumental music that is played when Elvis was done WITH HIS CONCERT where the man says "Elvis has left the building"? ALSO do you know a web site where it can be downloaded? thanks, Judy.
The music you're referring to has no title. It was simply created by Joe
Guerchio (Orchestra conductor). It was ALWAYS played as Elvis came onto the
stage and again when he left the stage (after singing "Can't Help Falling In
Love").
If you listen ANY concert recording of Elvis, you'll hear it. There are
literally hundreds of concerts (most are rare bootleg recordings), but some
are available in the shops (Elvis, Aloha From Hawaii, Live at Madison Square
Garden, etc.)
My particular favourite is a concert Recorded Live in Greensboro, North
Carolina. June 30th 1976 (8.30pm). It's a bootleg, but the quality is
immaculate. I've attached the last two tracks (MP3 files) which you should
listen to in order. This is a particular rare example as most others
normally fade away with the music, but here it plays on until the very end
and the musicians stop.

There is one Elvis, and God knew what He was doing when he brought this man to life. He was a true loving and giving man. To this day, not one person that I talk to who sees my SUV or my purses or Elvis shirts doesn't have something good to say about Elvis. I don't accept any rude or ugly talk about him. He had his faults, but who doesn't? And we as people are greedy with what we have, and Elvis gave away as much as he made. Who do you know who does that in this day and time?
